Underrated Classic - Michael Jackson "Dangerous"

In 1992 the King of Pop wanted to set the record straight, it didn't matter if you were "Black or White," and pulled out one of his most ambitious and bizarre pop records to date. Dangerous was just what Michael Jackson wanted to become. After years of controversy swirling around MJ over the cover of his skin, his sexuality and infatuation with childhood and wanting to stay young, he addressed it all on Dangerous. A pop record that did extremely well around the world in sales yet, unlike his previous efforts Off the Wall, Thriller, Bad it did not have the radio longevity that kept the general public from wanting more. Dangerous was accompanied by a bizarre album sleeve that mimicked Jackson's Neverland Ranch, as well as a slew of angry and sexually charged music videos. While MTV would edit them down for their audience, MJ wanted to show off his art and ambition to no end. The whole package of Dangerous is a remarkable effort and one to look into again.

On a personal note, it is the first CD I ever owned.
