Underrated Classic - Joey Ramone "Don't Worry About Me"

In 2001 Rock lost one of its greatest singers and punk lost one of it's greatest icons - Joey Ramone. After battling lymphoma, Joey passed in April 2001, before his cancer had hit its paramount, Joey had been working on his first solo album since The Ramones split in 1997. This posthumous release, Don't Worry About Me arrived in February of 2002 to bittersweet reviews and was a touching tribute to a man that so many loved around the world. The haunting title and cover art were a send off for Joey into the afterlife, while the only Ramone to play on the record was Marky Ramone on drums, neither DeeDee, Johnny, Richie, CJ or Tommy guested on the record, in fact during its recording and by the time of Joey's death, he had little to no contact with the rest of his band. Arriving to stores just a month before the band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Don't Worry About Me was the final showcase to one of music's greatest pioneers.
