Quick News

In less than a year, Interpol have almost lost just as many bassists as Van Halen has singers. After replacing Carlos D earlier in 2010, Dave Pajo is leaving the slick New York City indie band. He posted on the band's site that he is leaving to "focus on family." He says "I'll be taking a break from touring to focus on family. There are no personal, artistic or health reasons-- it's really as simple as that!" It sounds as if Pajo is not only taking a break from Interpol but also touring in general, as he later goes on to say that "I will continue to record and perform music, with bands as well as solo, I just won't be touring as much." The band has already found a replacement with Brad Truax.

Deftones will be releasing a special vinyl entitled, Covers for Record Store Day. The album, which features all rare and exciting covers of the band's favorites will be featured in a limited pressing. The band will cover everyone from The Cars to The Smiths to Sade to The Cardigans. Take a look at the track listing:

Side A:
Drive (The Cars)
Caress (Drive Like Jehu)
Please Please Please Let Me Get What I Want (The Smiths)
No Ordinary Love (Sade)
Savory (Jawbox)
Do You Believe (The Cardigans)

Side B:
Simple Man (Lynyrd Skynyrd)
Ghosts (Japan)
The Chauffeur (Duran Duran)
If Only Tonight We Could Sleep (Live) (The Cure)

The Killers drummer Ronnie Vannucci will follow in the footsteps of band mate Brandon Flowers and release a solo album, he tells NME. Vannucci will record his solo LP in London. No word as to if Vannucci will sing or not.

The Wombats have released the cover to their much anticipated sophomore release, This Modern Glitch. Take a look:
