Peter Hook Brings CLOSER to North America

After bringing his debut album, Unknown Pleasures, from his former band Joy Division with his new band The Light to mark the masterpiece's 30th anniversary, Joy Division bassist, Peter Hook shall do the same with the band's sophomore and final release, Closer. In a 13 date tour that will see Hooky play in the US, Canada and Mexico, he will bring for the first time and perform in full Closer. I spoke to Hook earlier in the year about how rehearsals for this tour were going and he said, "Whilst I have been rehearsing Closer, I have discovered that Closer is much more difficult to sing than Unknown Pleasures. I never expected that for one minute and I must admit, that whilst we have been rehearsing Closer, the feel of Closer is much more intense and much more melancholy and I am wondering about the reaction to it."

Earlier this summer, Hook and The Light released the EP 1102 / 2011 on Hacienda Records, based exclusively at www.fac51thehacienda.com, featuring the bands version of a previously unreleased Joy Division track, “Pictures In My Mind” and new renditions of “Atmosphere”, “New Dawn Fades” and “Insight” with vocals by The Light’s guest singer, Rowetta of Happy Mondays.
