The Cure will release their performance from Bestival this past summer as a 2CD set. The set will feature the band's "Reflections Tour" which sees the band performing their first three albums in full with each records original line-up.
Beastie Boy Adam Horowitz aka Ad Rock is scoring his father, Israel Horowitz's Off-Broadway play, Gloucester Blue. The play runs from November 16 through December 8.
While Damon Albarn leaked some new music from his band, Rocketjuice and the Moon which features Flea and Tony Allen - he has admitted to NME that he has been recording regularly with his first band, Blur. Now, don't get too excited, while the band have been meeting regularly, Albarn hopes to release his Rocketjuice album next year and resurrect his other band The Good, The Bad and The Queen. On top of all of this his other, other, other band (yes, he does too much) Gorillaz will release their first Greatest Hits compilation at the end of the year. However, now back to Blur, while he is busy with all of these project, he hinted that Blur may come to the US next year, he said "We think there might be an audience over there for us," he said. "[But] I just don't know if anyone would want to see [Blur in the UK] again – they've seen it already, haven't they? … We've got nothing new." Now THAT is something to be excited over.
The xx have confirmed that they are in the studio working on the follow-up to their 2009 debut.
In a recent interview with UK's The Fly, The Cribs have confirmed they are recording their latest album.
Coheed and Cambria have parted ways with drummer Chris Penne. In a statement to Noisecreep, Penne says "I am very thankful for the years that I shared the stage with the guys and want to thank the amazing, supportive fans that I've met while on tour, but there are a lot of exciting projects on the horizon, in addition to Return to Earth and Fight Mannequins, that I feel require my absolute 100 percent commitment and attention. I feel that this is the right time to make that happen." This departure comes on the heels of the band firing bassist Michael Todd after Todd tried to blow-up a pharmacy while the band was on tour in Massachusetts this summer.
James Blake will release his new EP, Love What Happened Here on December 11. Blake, who just released an EP, Enough Thunder last month, will close out the year with three releases - his debut and two EPs.
