The worlds of dance music are about to collide as Daft Punk are reportedly in talks with former Chic front man Nile Rodgers to collaborate on the robot DJ's forthcoming album. Disco pioneer, Rodgers told CultureMap, "They're coming to my apartment on Monday and we're going to talk about making a new record together." No word as to when a new Daft Punk record will be released, but this sis something to get excited over.
Timbaland has told MTV that he and Missy Elliot will be releasing records in June. Timbaland says, "We want to do it as a movement and spontaneously... I just don't want to move too ahead of her, and she doesn't wanna move too ahead of me."
Holy SHIT! Metallica are headlining the inaugural Orion Music and More two-day festival in Atlantic City, New Jersey on June 23 and June 24. Metallica are set to play their signature records, Ride the Lightening and The Black Album in full on the two days, respectively. The band hand selected a list of bands that includes; Gaslight Anthem, Best Coast, Avenged Sevenfold, Gary Clark Jr., The Sword, Modest Mouse, Hot Snakes, Titus Andronicus, Fucked Up, Liturgy, A Place to Bury Strangers, Lucero, Arctic Monkeys, Black Angels, Roky Erickson, and more to play at the festival.
