OFFICIALLY A PODCAST Ep. 8

In episode 8 of Officially A Podcast, Bill Reese host's Officially A Yuppie Owner / Editor in Chief Salvatore Bono's interview with Sebastian Pringle of Crystal Fighters. Take a listen to the interview above and for more info on Crystal Fighters, take a look at some addition questions Bono got in with Pringle below.

Being a band that is based out of UK, how do European audiences differ from American audiences?

European audiences are great and have supported us with love and extreme energy for a couple of years now, and we are very grateful to have made so many great friends and fans across that continent.  American audiences seem great too!  Though we have played much less over here and not to the same big crowds and festivals we have in Europe. I suppose the American audience seems very fun-loving but also inquisitive and curious about our music, which is a nice thing.

Since a majority of your life is on the road, what has been the most memorable experience you have had on tour?

It's pretty hard to put a finger on the most memorable experience, but our set at Glastonbury last summer was particularly fun and since it is such and epic festival with such history and spirit about it, we would have to say that.

You have been praised by  Mojo Magazine, Spotify, NME, Mixmag, how do you respond to such high acclaim?

We can only be appreciative!  We're very happy that the music journalists have been kind to us - as they can be very cruel for sure - and hope that we can carry on having people write about our stuff in a positive way.

What is next for Crystal Fighters?

Next we leave New York where we are right now and head for San Francisco and L.A. before heading back to London where we are currently based to continue writing our second album.  We will be back in the States in May and June hopefully too.

Do you feel it is an exciting time to be a musician, given the amount of bands out there today?

It is definitely a very exciting time to be a musician, though we do realise it is very hard for bands to get noticed and, more importantly, make original music.  It is very difficult of course, but somehow that makes the job even more rewarding when it goes right.
