Sad news to report - The Queen of Disco, Donna Summer passed away at age 63 of cancer. The singer, who had a number of hits including, "Last Dance," pioneered the disco sound in the 70's and her music has lived on every dance floor that has been built from the moment she started her career. She will be missed.

Late Beastie Boy Adam Yauch received a high honor from New York State Senate this week. Senator Daniel Squadron, who represents Yauch's Brooklyn Heights neighborhood introduced a resolution to honor the late musician. The resolution was passed on Thursday and you can read the full thing HERE.

In other Yauch memorial news, this Saturday in New York's Union Square will be MCA DAY. It will be an event where fans and friends can come together to celebrate the life and legacy of MCA, the event is free and starts at 11 a.m.

Black Sabbath have issued a statement on the departure of drummer Bill Ward, who will not be taking part in the band's reunion. The band said:
We have decided not to make any detailed comment on Bill's latest statement. There are two sides to every story. We have been working hard at rehearsals making excellent progress after Tony's treatments and we have engaged a substitute drummer for the forthcoming shows.
