21 years in the making, My Bloody Valentine will release a follow-up to their 1991 landmark album, Loveless. Frontman Kevin Shields told NME,“I think with this record, people who like us will immediately connect with something. Based on the very, very few people who’ve heard stuff — some engineers, the band, and that’s about it — some people think it’s stranger than Loveless. I don’t. I feel like it really frees us up, and in the bigger picture it’s 100 percent necessary.” The album is expected to be out before the end of the year.
Babyshambles bassist, Drew McConnell will release his debut solo album via Tumblr. The bassist said on his site, "A little while ago, whilst in self-imposed exile on a small volcanic island, I wrote and recorded a clutch of songs. Well, the plan is to put one of these songs out every 2 weeks (via Bandcamp) starting from November 10, and to release a physical record when we reach 12 tunes."
While we are streaming his other band, How to Destroy Angels, new EP via The Hype Machine, Trent Reznor has spoken out about fans getting new Nine Inch Nails music. When asked by Rolling Stone if he was working on new NIN, he said, "Yeah, there will be new music. There are some things in the works."
Industrial legends, KMFDM will release their new album Kunst in February. The band has spoken out and said they were inspired by the plight of Pussy Riot to make and create this album. Singer Sacha Konietzko said in a statement, “In support of the Femen/Pussy Riot protestors, I created a suitably forceful chainsaw-wielding amazon for the front cover of the new KMFDM album, ‘Kunst.’ Since their incarceration for various anti-Putin stunts and protests, international support for the women of the movement has grown exponentially, mostly due to their bare-chested style of defiance.” Take a look at the cover below:
