In a day and age when many bands try to find a sound that is familiar to a listeners ear, it is always refreshing to hear something totally unique and far out in the medium that it takes you by surprise right away. That surprise and awe may be a bit uncomfortable at first, but when it sets it, you thoroughly enjoy every second of it. Much like the music of The Flaming Lips, The Mars Volta, John Fruscante, Portugal. The Man, the experimental sounds of ambitious bands may not sell records but will gain a reputation far beyond anything a record chart could dictate. This is the case for ChemistReset, the brainchild of multi-instrumentalist Charles J. Thomas. The Brooklyn based Thomas began this band as a solo project and has now blossomed into a full band and self-released their fantastic debut, Air Vibration: Ready Demolition!, and are ready to demolish the stages and faces of the audiences they set to play in front of in 2013. The album, which took nine months to make, is an amalgamation of sound, color, and light filtered through amplifiers. This is a band that fans will take comfort in their alternative and truly unique sound.
