Before
The Sex Pistols, before
The Ramones, there was
Death. A band that took fast shredding guitar work and early raw punk and fueled it with afro and jazz origins and could have been poised to be the next big thing in music, especially in the 1970's. But, major labels did not want anything to with the band from Detroit since they were a black trio playing radically diverse and raw music. Now, a documentary directed by
Jeff Howlett and
Mark Covino on Death called
A Band Called Death will hit theaters in June. Take a look at the trailer above.
