Faith No More have confirmed that their yet-to-be-titled new album will arrive in April.
Speaking to The News Herald, Mike Ness of Social Distortion confirmed that the iconic SoCal band are working on a new album, saying, "The next record I might want to be more primitive or garage or more aggressive, but it has to be different from the last record. The writing just kind of reflects that. I’m writing differently because I want it to be different from the last record.”It’s a very strange phenomenon. Most bands that have been around 35 years, their heyday was 35 years ago and they’re still trying to live off that. For us, it was the opposite. Back then we were struggling, guys in a van going across the country broke. It just kind of evolves and progresses, and we’re really fortunate that way.”
Metallica are entering the Guinness Book of World Records as the only touring band to ever play all seven continents in the world. Also, entering the Book is Eminem who has the most words in a single on "Rap God" with 1,560 words in one song.
First it was Tupac, then Nas, now Kendrick Lamar will have a college course built around his lyrics. A Georgia Regents University English Professor is using lyrics from Lamar's debut to showcase the life of a young urbanite. The university's website said, "Taking its name from Kendrick Lamar’s 2012 album, this course will examine the role of urban living on the development of young people. In Kendrick’s case, “the streets sure to release the worst side of my best” (Lamar 58). By studying and analyzing various literature, films, and K. Dot’s album, we will consider what effects our characters’ surroundings have on who they become as adults. The cities we will be visiting, in our imaginations, are Dublin, New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles. Assignments will include a substantial research paper, stemming from the topics inherent in our texts; students should also expect other writing assignments, such as short papers and online discussion posts."
