RZA has confirmed that the long awaited new Wu-Tang Clan record, A Better Tomorrow, will arrive on Black Friday and it will feature EVERY living member of Wu.
Sad news to report, the family of AC/DC guitarist Malcolm Young have confirmed that the iconic guitarist has dementia. It is this illness that has plagued the guitarist for a few years and was left undisclosed to the public and the reason he will not appear on the band's upcoming album and tour.
Iconic hip-hop producer, DJ Premier and rapper Royce da 5'9" are teaming up for a joint album called PRHYME and will feature Schoolboy Q, Jay Electronica, Adrian Younge, Common, Ab-Soul and more. It is slated to arrive before the end of the year.
While U2 are getting more flack for how they released their new record, Songs of Innocence, one musician is sticking by the Irish legends. Metallica's Lars Ulrich tells Billboard that he was "immensely inspired" by how the rock giants released their album via Apple. Ulrich said, "It's 2014 and anybody who thinks outside the box, or attempts in any way, shape or form, to break the status quo in the world of music, should be applauded. To me, it’s not about whether the endeavour is a success or not. It’s the fact that they have the balls and the foresight to throw something this radical at us."
To celebrate the 45th anniversary of The Velvet Underground's self-titled third album, the band will be releasing a six-disc box set that includes the remastered record, demos, live cuts outtakes, B-sides, and their unreleased fourth album that no one has ever officially heard outside of the band. Several of the songs from this fourth record eventually went on the band's final album, Loaded, and some left overs went on Lou Reed's Transformer. This box set is out at the end of November.
