Movie of the Month: Bronson

Action Bronson will release his new album, Mr. Wonderful, at the end of this month, yet, for our Movie of the Month pick for March, we look at another celebrity named Bronson. No, not Charlie Bronson, the actor, but notorious British prisoner Michael Gordon Peterson who was renamed Charles Bronson by his fight promoter. This brutally intense 2008 biopic stars Tom Hardy as Bronson. The film chronicles how Bronson was brought up in a middle class family in England, then went to become a fighter but ultimately he turned into the UK's most notorious criminal, having spent most of his adult life in solitary confinement. The film, directed by Nicolas Winding Refn, stunned audiences around the world and became the breakout role for Hardy, who would then go on to become one of Hollywood's leading men. As one critic said, it was "A Clockwork Orange For the 21st Century," it is in fact, the most accurate depiction of this project. It is told unlike any other biopic ever made simply because it is not your average biopic.
