Recommended Reading: Mad World

The 1980's may seem like an eternity but the music still sounds as fresh and as vibrant today as it did then. When something is a classic it never goes out of style. This is depicted in the 2014 book, Mad World by Lori Majewski and Jonathan Bernstein, who like Legs McNeil and Gillian McCain before them wrote Please Kill Me -- the oral history of punk, wrote the oral history of New Wave.

The book features interviews from members of Duran Duran, New Order, The Smiths, Tears for Fears, Adam Ant, Echo and the Bunnymen, Devo, ABC, Spandau Ballet, A Flock of Seagulls, Thompson Twins, and INXS.

Featuring an intro by Nick Rhodes of Duran Duran and an afterword by Moby, this book will transport you back in time and make those that lived through the scene remember and those that didn't bring them to a place that now only exists in memory.
