Quick News

Sad news to report: Gord Downie of The Tragically Hip has been diagnosed with terminal brain cancer. The band broke the news on their website Tuesday morning and plan on touring. They wrote: "Since [his diagnosis], obviously, he’s endured a lot of difficult times, and he has been fighting hard. In privacy along with his family, and through all of this, we've been standing by him. So after 30-some years together as the Tragically Hip, thousands of shows, and hundreds of tours … We've decided to do another one. This feels like the right thing to do now, for Gord, and for all of us."

In an interview with BBC4 for their Mastertapes series, Paul McCartney admitted that he was "depressed" after The Beatles split in 1970. He said: "You would be too if it happened to you.' You were breaking from your lifelong friends. We used to liken it to the army where you'd been army buddies for a few years, and now you weren't going to see them again."

Sex Pistols guitarist Steve Jones  will release his autobiography, Lonely Boy, in January.
