Prince had a long running feud with the internet and online streaming services like YouTube, Spotify, and Apple Music. He would upload some videos of himself in concert, then pull them down and also would not allow his music videos on the platforms either.
Following his passing last year, that is slowly starting to change. Prince, who had a semi-exclusive deal with Tidal, seems to see his estate sharing his work across other platforms that once did not house his music online.
Now, the Prince estate has published a couple rare live videos of him performing to YouTube for the first time, including "Take Me With U" from a Houston, TX, concert in 1985; "I Would Die 4 U" and "Baby I'm a Star," from a Landover, MD, concert in 1984.
Hopefully, this becomes the first of many. Take a look!
