Remembering Malcolm Young

On Saturday, the news of Malcolm Young of AC/DC's passing hit like a punch to the gut. It is hard to believe that even rock stars are mortal when we make them immortal, especially a guitar god like Young. The 64-year-old, who suffered from dementia, retired from music in 2014 and news broke of his passing after the band released a statement on Facebook, see above.

The news of his death strikes many, especially with the amount of anthems he crafted with his brother, Angus, and the rest of AC/DC in whatever form they were in from Bon Scott fronting the band to Brian Johnson or Axle Rose. Young was not just the founder but the solid core of the group which helped usher heavy metal to the mainstream and did it in such a fashion that will be remembered forever.

Following his death, many musicians took to social media to pay respects to Young, a man who helped influence their careers.
